PORTLAND — Vendors have until 4 p.m. on Nov. 24 to submit requests for information about establishing a bike-share program in the city.

The city Planning & Urban Development Department is seeking information, including nonbinding cost estimates for capital and operations and business models, for a possible program that would not be operated solely by the city.

Consideration of a bike-share program began in 2013 when the federal Environmental Protection Agency funded and conducted a planning process that included a workshop and day-long technical session.

The RFI can be viewed and downloaded on the city website. Questions should be directed to Kristine Keeney of the Planning & Urban Development Department Transportation Division at 874-8718 or kmk@portlandmaine.gov.

RFI submissions can be mailed to the Planning & Urban Development Department, Portland City Hall, 389 Congress St., 4th Floor, Portland, ME 04101, or emailed to jlevine@portlandmaine.gov.
