PORTLAND — The Portland Public Schools received a $150,000 grant from the Barr Foundation, which will be used to better understand the academic experiences of high school students and to ensure that all students are prepared to succeed in college, career, and the community.

The School Department will be one of five districts across New England to participate in the foundation’s Planning for Post-Secondary Success for All Students initiative.

Through the grants, the school districts will commit to developing strategic action plans that address student needs and promote postsecondary success.
