Class of 2010 Top Ten

Marianne Anderson, daughter of Drew Anderson and Jane Lee.

Activities and Awards: Student Council President, Key Club Co-President and Executive Board, National Honor Society, Wellesley College Book Award, Photography Club, Soccer, Tennis, soup kitchen volunteer, elementary school Math Team volunteer and Rotary Youth Leadership Program.  

Future Plans: Middlebury College.

Scott Briggs,
son of Robert and Deborah Briggs.

Activities and Awards: Ice Hockey Team Captain, Baseball, youth hockey coach volunteer, State Champion Babe Ruth Team, Williams Book Award and works part-time for a moving company.  

Future Plans: Syracuse University

Corey Carmichael,
daughter of William Carmichael and Patricia Waldron.

Activities and Awards: Valedictorian, Field Hockey team Captain, Tennis, Photography Club Secretary, Fitness Club Founder and President, Executive Board, National Honor Society, Swarthmore Book Award and worked part-time for the Portland Sea Dogs.

Future Plans: Swarthmore College.

Patrick Curran, son of Robert and Jana Curran.  

Activities and Awards: Senior Executive Board, Play It Smart, Football, Lacrosse, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Volunteer, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk Volunteer, Democratic Caucus Volunteer.

Future Plans: Bentley College.
Alexander Donatelle, son of Emery and Eileen Donatelle.  

Activities and Awards: Executive Board, Key Club, Junior Classical League, National Honor Society, St. Joseph’s College Book Award, Soccer, Baseball, Swim Team, Maine Medical Explorer, works in construction during summer.  

Future Plans: Bates College.

Vesna Glisic, daughter of Milorad and Vera Glisic.

Activities and Awards: Executive Board Secretary, Student Council, National Honor Society, Williams College Book Award, Tennis Team, Peer Mentoring, Maine Medical Explorer and works at Tim Horton’s.  

Future Plans: Boston College.

Cole Hutchison, son of Bruce and Mary Hutchison.

Activities and Awards: Executive Board President, National Honor Society.  Cross Country Team Captain, Rugby Club, Nordic Ski team, Junior Varsity Soccer, Scholastic Silver Key Award and works at Rosemont Market.   

Future Plans: Massachusetts College of Art.

Simon Thompson, son of Cartwright Thompson and Helen McCain. 

Activities and Awards: National Merit Commended Scholar, National Honor Society, Brown University Book Award, American Mathematics Competition school winner, “Step Up to the Plate Award” from Portland League of Young Voters, Portland School Committee Student Representative, PHS Debate Team Founder and President, school newspaper editor, Cross Country team captain, Key Club Vice-President, “No On 1” campaign volunteer coordinator, coordinator of a donation drive for trafficking victims, PHS voter registration drive organizer, 21 Reasons Steering Committee and works at Don’s Sportscards Center.  

Future Plans: Harvard University.

Timothy Weber
, son of William and Ann Weber.

Activities and Awards: Salutatorian, AP Scholar, National Honor Society, Harvard Book Award.  Maine All-Star Math Team President, Key Club President, Nordic Ski Team Captain, Soccer Team Captain, Photography Club Treasurer, Also Sailing team captain, Cross Country, Band, Science Bowl, Peer to Peer Tutoring, Newspaper, Executive Board, Acapella Club and volunteered on the “Equality Maine/No On 1” Campaign.

Future Plans: Columbia University.

Emma Wilson, daughter of William Wilson and Alison Denham.  

Activities and Awards: Senior Class President, National Honor Society, Dartmouth Book Award.  Field Hockey Team Captain, Ice Hockey, Tennis,Student Council Treasurer, Key Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters volunteer and works at Rosemont Market.  

Future Plans: Duke University.
