Recording artist Illijah made a recent visit to a school dance held at Lyman Moore Middle School after receiving an e-mail from student Debrekah Simms asking him to come and help with a fundraiser dance for the school’s yearbook. Students were thrilled that the Maine native performed five songs and even invited two students to sing with him during a song.
A recent benefit production of “Guys and Dolls” by students at Portland’s Lyman Moore Middle School raised $820 for the Center for Grieving Children. Moore students also worked with children at the center to create props for the production. Pictured here are Moore students Rachel Friedman and Jack Schwartz presenting a check to Susan Giambalvo, program director at the Center for Grieving Children.
