Adam Zieba (Valedictorian) is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Zieba of Portland. He graduated summa cum laude. Zieba was a member of the math team, the Haiti Solidarity Club, and the cross-country and the indoor and outdoor track teams. He received the Williams College Book Award and the Undergraduate of the Year Award last fall. He will attend Tufts University in the fall.

Allison Saunders (Salutatorian) is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Saunders of Saco. She graduated summa cum laude and is a member of the National Honor Society. She served the Class of 2012 as one of its co-presidents. Saunders was recognized at graduation with Academic Excellence Medals in latin and science. She received the President’s Educational Award and a gold award for academic excellence in A.P. Latin, theology and A.P. calculus. She was a member of the math team, the Key Club and Campus Ministry. She received the John J. Flaherty Prize in classics and the Harvard Book Prize last fall. Allison will attend Georgetown University in the fall.

Gaia Cloutier is the daughter of Ms. Lisa Friedlander and Mr. Thomas Cloutier of Portland. She graduated summa cum laude, is a member of the National Honor Society, and received the President’s Educational Award. She received the silver award for academic excellence in A.P. English literature and A.P. European history. Cloutier was a member of the Key Club and the student council. She received the Le Moyne College Book Award last fall. She will attend Trinity College in the fall.

Emily Gibson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Gibson of Portland. She graduated summa cum laude, is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society, and received the President’s Educational Award. Gibson was recognized at graduation with the St. Ignatius Award, the John Philip Sousa Band Award, the Perfect Attendance Award and a gold award for academic excellence in theology, concert band, physics and functions and trigonometry. Gibson was vice president and secretary of the class of 2012. She was an active member of the Key Club, serving as the lieutenant governor of the New England District. She played soccer, basketball and tennis, and was instrumental in creating the Cheverus Table Tennis Club. She received the Holy Cross Book Prize last fall and will attend Rhodes College next year.

Elizabeth Gwilym is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Gwilym of Freeport. She is a member of the National Honor Society and graduated summa cum laude. She was recognized at graduation with an academic excellence award in French. Gwilym was chosen by her classmates and the faculty to be the baccalaureate speaker. She earned a bronze award in A.P. environmental science, received the
President’s Educational Award and was the recipient of the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Scholar/Athlete Award. She was a member of the Key Club, the math team and the cross-country and indoor and outdoor track teams. She received the Boston College Book Award last fall and she will attend Colgate College this fall.

Anna Herling is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Herling of Bowdoin. She is a member of the National Honor Society and graduated summa cum laude. She was a member of the Key Club, serving as this year’s secretary. Herling received the gold award in honors English, physics and academic computing essentials and is a recipient of the President’s Educational Award. She was a member of the swim team, the math team, the student council, the civil rights team and the Outdoor Club. She was the recipient of the College of the Atlantic Book Award and was a Rensselaer Medalist recipient last fall. Anna will attend Colby College in the fall.

Monica Millay is the daughter of Ms. Daphne Millay of Portland and Mr. William Millay of Old Orchard Beach. She graduated summa cum laude and received the President’s Educational Award. She was recognized at graduation with an academic excellence award in Spanish. Millay was a member of Model U.N., the Haiti Solidarity Club and the Cheverus International Club. She will attend New York University.

Bradford Pineau is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pineau of Portland. He graduated summa cum laude, is a member of the National Honor Society and received the President’s Educational Award. He received a gold award for statistics, honors physics and A.P. chemistry. He was a member of the math team, the soccer seam and the ski team. He received the Fairfield University Book Award last fall. Bradford will attend Tufts University this fall.

Emmett Roy is the son of Ms. Carole Roy of Wells. He graduated summa cum laude, is a member of the National Honor Society, and received the President’s Educational Award. Emmett was the recipient of the bronze award for honors English. He was the recipient of the Yale Book Award last fall. Emmett will attend Boston College in the fall.

Lukas Temple is the son of Mr. James Temple and Ms. Michelle Belyea of Topsham. He is a member of the National Honor Society and graduated summa cum laude. He received a silver award in American roots and theology and the President’s Educational Award. He was chosen by his classmates and the faculty as this year’s Outstanding Senior and All-Around Student to speak at graduation. He was a member of the math team and the home team, and the captain of the swim team. Temple played cross-country and outdoor track. He was the recipient of the Southwestern Maine Swim Officials Scholarship, the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Scholar/Athlete Award and the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award. He received the St. Michael’s College Book Award  last fall. He will attend the U.S. Naval Academy in the fall.

Alexandra Wirth is the daughter of Dr. Joel Wirth and Dr. Barbara Wirth of Portland. She graduated summa cum laude, is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society, and received the President’s Educational Award. She received a bronze award in honors pre-calculus and was the recipient of the U.S. Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award. She was a member of the Spanish Club, the math team, and the Key Club. She was also a member of the cross-country, Nordic ski and the swim teams. She was awarded the Brandeis University Book  Award last fall.  Wirth will attend Lehigh University in the fall.

David Woodbury is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Woodbury of Portland. He is a member of the National Honor Society, graduated summa cum laude, and received the President’s Educational Award. He received a bronze award for A.P. Spanish. He was a member of the math team, Model U.N and the Investment Club. David was also a member of the tennis team and the cross-country and indoor track teams. He received the Cornell University Book Award last fall. He will attend Washington and Lee University this fall.
