PORTLAND — Twenty-four students at Catherine McAuley High School were recently inducted into the National Honor Society.

FT. MEYERS, Fla. — Michael J. Methot, son of Toni and Joe Methot of Portland, has earned high honors and been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Florida Gulf Coast University.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sens. Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins recently named the Maine nominees to the U.S. military academies.
Jules Szanton of Portland was nominated to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.

Andrea Holman of Portland was nominated to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
William P. Day, Christopher Gervais and Andrea Holman, all of Portland, were nominated to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
