The Portland City Council is scheduled to vote on half a dozen restaurant-related license requests Aug. 2.

Down on Wharf Street, the restaurant and nightclub 51 Wharf wants to stay open after hours, until 3 a.m., for dancing. There would be no alcohol served after 1 a.m., and no one under 21 years old would be allowed in.

Walter’s at Two Portland Square is asking to add 40 outdoor dining seats in the restaurant’s private courtyard.

Lucid Stage, the theater troupe, is moving into 29 Baxter Boulevard and is asking for an indoor entertainment license, along with permission to serve beer and wine.

Viet Bangkok Cuisine at 249 St. John St. has requested a license for entertainment with dancing.

And finally, the State Theatre goes before the City Council Monday to ask for its license to have liquor, entertainment and dancing.
