The Portland Porpoise swim club had several strong showings at the recent Bowdoin Open, where it came in fifth overall and first among Maine swim clubs. Will Couture (pictured) set a new meet record in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 28.58 seconds, breaking Trebor Lawton’s mark. Eric Delmonte broke a 20-year-old state record in the 200 breaststroke in 2 minutes, 2.51 seconds, currently placing him 200th in the country.
