PORTLAND — Police are seeking a suspect in a shooting and related stabbing in the Old Port early Monday morning.

Police Lt. James Sweatt said the incidents occurred around 12:25 a.m. near the intersection of Fore and Market streets. Officers responding to a call about gun shots found a 22-year-old Westbrook man had been shot.

Sweatt said the man, who had non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to Maine Medical Center, where police discovered a 23-year-old Westbrook man had arrived with stab wounds.

Police saw the suspect flee in a vehicle, which was later found on Oxford Street between Pearl and Wilmot streets. Officials have not released a description of the suspect, but have taken the unidentified vehicle to headquarters as part of the investigation, Sweatt said.

No charges have been filed in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 874-8533. Tips can also be texted anonymously to 274637, using the keyword “GOTCHA.”
