Portland police seek hit-and-run driver who struck pedestrian

PORTLAND — Police are seeking the driver of a vehicle that hit a city man Sunday evening on Congress Street.

Phillip White, 29, was struck around 7:30 p.m. near 1565 Congress St., City Hall spokeswoman Jessica Grondin said in a news release Monday.

White, whose address was not released, was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Details about the vehicle in the alleged hit-and-run were not released.
