PORTLAND — Police are looking for two men in connection with an armed robbery reported Wednesday night.

Police Lt. James Sweatt said in a press release Thursday the robbery was reported at the Hannaford Bros. store parking lot at 787 Riverside St. around 10:20 p.m.

Two victims said they were sitting in a vehicle when they were approached by the suspects, one of whom displayed a handgun and demanded money.

Sweatt said the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled toward Forest Avenue. Both suspects wore blue bandannas over the lower halves of their faces.

The suspect carrying the gun was described as a black man, 5 feet 6 inches, between 25 and 30 years old, with short curly hair and dressed in dark clothing. The other suspect, also black, was described as about 6 feet tall, and wearing a brown, fur-lined hoodie.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 874-8584 or text anonymous tips to 274637, with the key word “Gotcha” and the tip.
