PORTLAND — Police said the same people robbed two branches of KeyBank within 15 minutes Friday morning.

The pair, wearing masks, entered the KeyBank at 400 Forest Ave. at 11:05 a.m. and demanded cash from tellers. They fled on foot toward Fessenden Street, according to a Police Department press release.

At 11:20 a.m. the same people robbed the bank at 98 Auburn St. They again demanded cash and fled on foot. A dye pack handed over during the robbery activated on a path behind the bank and was discarded by the robbers, who may have dye stains on their hands or clothing.

They were last seen getting into a small, dark-colored car parked behind the bank on Brook Road. The car had a partial registration plate of 8843.

No weapons were displayed during either robbery, police said, and no one was injured.

Both robbers appeared to be of medium height and build. They were wearing knit caps, sunglasses, and masks to make them appear elderly.
