PORTLAND — Registration is open to women who would like to take Rape Aggression Defense classes sponsored by the Portland Police Department.
Held over five sessions at the Police Department at 109 Middle St., the course teaches personal safety tips and physical self-defense skills. The first four classes will be held 6-9 p.m. on Sept. 16, 18, 23 and 25. The final class will be held from 8 a.m.-noon on Sept. 27.
The course fee is $25, and the deadline to register is Sept. 10. Course fees benefit the Amy St. Laurent Foundation, created in the memory of Amy St. Laurent, who was murdered in 2001.
