PORTLAND — Police are investigating an early Monday morning shooting that injured a 32-year-old man.

Assistant Police Chief Vern Malloch said in a press release the victim called 911 from his 104 Oak St. apartment Oct. 17 at 12:39 a.m.  He was treated at the scene before being taken to Maine Medical Center.

Malloch said the man suffered “a non-life threatening gunshot wound,” and was in stable condition. The shooting was an isolated incident, he said, and police do not believe there is any danger to the public.
