PORTLAND — Police Monday released the names of 10 people, including five children, who were injured in a car accident on Marginal Way Sunday morning.

Police said the accident occurred when a 2002 Ford Explorer crossed the street’s center line about 11:10 a.m. near the intersection with Preble Street Extension and collided head-on with a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

All occupants of both vehicles were hospitalized, including two in the Explorer who were listed in critical condition Sunday. Further details were not immediately available.

On Monday afternoon police identified the occupants of the Explorer as driver Sebastien Bukuru, 44; Joshua Irasubiza, 12; Pamela Ishimwe, 15; Penine Nduwayo, 41; Clemence Nyinawumuntu, 34, and Clarisse Uwimana, 39.

Occupants ot the Cherokee were driver Marcelina Dakiti, 35; Marvin Dakiti, 5; Jeissey Khamis, 6, and Jayvan Khamis, 8.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
