PORTLAND — The Police Department is surveying residents to get feedback about its job performance.

The department is asking the public to complete a 40-question online survey, developed with help from the University of New England, according to a PPD press release. Questions focus on the public’s perception of crime and safety in the city, community-police relations, and ways in which police performance can improve.

Results from the survey, which will be compiled and analyzed by UNE, will help guide the department’s crime reduction efforts and strengthen its community relations, according to the release.

The survey can be accessed through the city’s website, portlandmaine.gov, or at surveymonkey.com/s/PortlandPD.
