PORTLAND — People interested in learning how to use the city’s new online Citizen Self-Service Portal is invited to a free 6 p.m. training session on Wednesday, July 11.

The session will be held in City Hall Room 24. Participants will be given access to computer stations to learn about the system, which is used to file and store permit applications and plans.

The workshop will cover how to register on the system, how to file plans and view them, and how to pay fees and schedule inspections, city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin said.

Anyone expecting to file site plans or permit applications is urged to attend, including contractors, architects, property managers and business owners, Grondin said.

Registration is required by emailing kouellette@portlandmaine.gov or calling 756-8142.
