SCARBOROUGH — A Portland man who sexually molested an 8-year-old girl at a Route 1 motel in 2013 was sentenced Friday in Cumberland County Superior Court to 25 years in prison, according to a Police Department press release.
Timothy M. Hunt, 30, of 991 Forest Ave., Portland, was convicted in July on six counts of gross sexual assault, a Class A felony, and six counts of unlawful sexual touching, a Class B felony.
The crimes occurred at the Downeaster Motel, 184 U.S. Route 1, between January and July 2013, while Hunt was the girl’s caretaker.
Hunt was charged Sept. 26, 2013, after Scarborough Police Department detectives investigated a complaint by the girl’s mother, who allegedly interrupted an assault when she came home from work. He was indicted by a Cumberland County grand jury in December 2013.
