Yamouth police made an arrest Tuesday in one of the town’s more dramatic unsolved crimes, the early-morning burglary of the Hannaford Pharmacy in 2012 in which the burglar apparently broke in through the store roof.

Police announced Tuesday that they have charged Charles B. Gardner, 33, of Portland, with burglary, theft and aggravated criminal mischief, all felonies.

The charges stem from the Dec. 19, 2012, break-in during which roughly $5,000 worth of drugs were stolen.

The FBI had offered an unspecified reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible.

Police said they would not release any more details about the case until Gardner’s arraignment, which is scheduled for Wednesday. He is being held on $20,000 bail at Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
