PORTLAND — A city man accused of possessing sexually explicit materials was arrested last week for violating conditions of release.

Glenn R. Strout, 52, of 139 Beverly St., was already scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Unified Criminal Docket Wednesday, March 23, according to court records.

On March 18, Portland Assistant Police Chief Vern Malloch announced Strout was arrested the day before because police discovered he had computers at his home. His bail requirements prohibited contact with anyone under the age of 18 and possession of electronic devices.

Strout was originally charged with a Class C count for possession of child pornography involving a minor under the age of 12. He was arrested Dec. 11, 2015, by Maine State Police Detective Frank Stepnick.

Court records do not indicate whether Strout has been indicted on the charge.
