PORTLAND — A multi-act music festival planned Saturday, Aug. 8, on the Eastern Promenade has been moved to the Maine State Pier.
Herb Ivy of Townsquare Media said Tuesday the shift was made because the pier is now available and better suited for the festival.
“(The pier has) all the infrastructure there and is an amazing on-the-water concert experience,” Ivy said.
The show features six bands and is headlined by Guster. Gates open at 1 p.m., and Ivy expects 3,000 fans to attend.
The festival would have been the first large-scale concert on the Eastern Promenade since Mumford & Sons headlined the “Gentlemen of the Road” tour in August 2012.
