PORTLAND — The library is looking for books that are good enough to eat.

The Edible Book Festival is scheduled for April 1 at the Portland Public Library. Coinciding with the First Friday Art Walk, the festival seeks book or book-related creations that are edible.

Examples of past submissions include “Moby Dip” made from bread and spinach dip and the “Adventures of Oliver Twist” made from olives and lemons.

To register, e-mail weyand@portland.lib.me.us or call 871-1700 ext. 758.

Entries will be on exhibit from 5-7 p.m. People can vote for their favorites; awards will be presented at 7 p.m. and then the art will be up for eating.
