PORTLAND — Friends of Portland Public Library will host forums March 22 and March 26 to discuss how the library raises and spends money.

The event will include an overview of the library budget, with Library Director Stephen Podgajny and city officials explaining the city’s allocation process.

The library gets a bulk of its funding from the city, and about 20 percent through privately raised funds.

The March 22 forum is at noon in the Rines Auditorium at the main branch on Monument Square. The March 26 forum is at 11 a.m. in the auditorium.
