Three Portland kids, representing Elks Lodge No. 188, won their respective age group at Sunday’s state Hoop Shoot championships in Brunswick. Isabel Dawson took the girls’ 8-9 division. Henry Westphal won the boys’ 8-9 age group. Stephan Gikas took first in the boys’ 12-13 division. Jack Casale was second to Skowhegan-Madison’s Colby Esty in the boys’ 10-11 age group. Dawson also won the Allan W. Richard Outstanding Shooter Award. Westphal, who had the highest score of the day with 23 shots made in 25 attempts, won the Amos A. McCallum Outstanding Shooter Award.
