PORTLAND — The Portland Community Health Center, which operates clinics at 180 Park Ave. and at Preble Street Resource Center, was awarded $206,000 in funding from the federal Department of Health and Human Services.

U.S. Sen Angus King, I-Maine, announced the grant Sept. 23 as part of a larger award of $3.1 million to 14 health centers in Maine. The money is awarded through the Affordable Care Act and can be used to increase staffing and hours at the centers.
