PORTLAND — The Portland Community Health Center will receive just over $680,000 in federal funding to expand its services, U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, said Tuesday.
The center, at 180 Park Ave., provides primary medical and mental health care to about 3,000 area residents on a sliding-scale payment basis.
Operated by the city with federal support since 2009, the center became an independent nonprofit organization Jan. 1.
