PORTLAND — A $682,000 federal grant will help pay for a new heavy rescue truck for the city Fire Department.
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant was announced Aug. 8 by U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine. Grants were also made to Gray and Casco. The Casco grant of almost $50,000 will help fund a new diesel fume exhaust system. In Gray, a grant of $36,000 will help pay for fitness and wellness equipment.
