The MBNation 8th grade girls’ basketball team, featuring two girls from the city of Portland, Elizabeth Donato and Laura Holman, made it to the finals of the Division III AAU National tournament in Orlando, Fla., last week. After finishing second at the state tournament to qualify for nationals, MBNation defeated Florida (48-41), New York (69-33), South Georgia (61-35), TGFB of Georgia (60-21) and Delaware (52-32) to reach the final, where the team lost to Massachusetts, 46-31.
