PORTLAND — The city will receive almost $300,000 in federal funding to help pay for improvements at the Casco Bay Island Ferry Service garage on Commercial Street.
The U.S. Department of Transportation grant was announced Monday by U.S. Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Angus King, an independent. The grant is from the Passenger Ferry Program.
“These types of investments are essential for ensuring that the facilities and infrastructure at this important transportation hub are properly maintained,” King and Collins said in a joint statement.
