PORTLAND — The Maine League of Women Voters is hosting an informational meeting Feb. 4 to discuss instant runoff voting.
Portland voters will be asked to use this type of voting – which asks voters to rank their choices on the ballot – in November for the city’s first mayoral election.
The league is bringing in Terry Bouricious, a policy analyst for FairVote and director of the Vermont League of Women Voters, to help explain how instant runoff voting works.
The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the State of Maine Room at City Hall. For more information, go to lwvme.org.
