PORTLAND — A new community effort to prepare for climate change will be the topic of two Dec. 14 meetings at Mayo Street Arts, 18 Mayo St.

The Bayside Adapts Working Group will first meet from 1-3 p.m. At 6 p.m., Dr. Cameron Wake of the University of New Hampshire will lead a community forum on rising sea levels and how they may affect the Bayside neighborhood.

Both sessions are free and open to the public.

Also at the forum, details of a new Resilient Bayside Design Competition will be announced, where designers can present ideas of what a more resilient neighborhood could look like. The competition is funded through a $10,000 grant from the National League of Cities.
