PORTLAND — City councilors will vote Monday, June 6, on hiring Christopher C. Branch as public works director.

His appointment by City Manager Jon Jennings was announced June 2 by city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin.

Branch was most recently the regional manager at Sebago Technics, and directed the Lewiston Public Works/Services Department for 18 years, from 1986 to 2004.

Branch will replace interim Director Robert Leeman, who was appointed after former Public Services Director Michael Bobinsky stepped down last fall. The department has since been renamed, and no longer oversees parks and recreation.

Branch will be paid $112,554 annually.
