PORTLAND — Snow removal operations at the Portland International Jetport will get a $484,000 boost, according to U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine.
Pingree announced the grant from the Federal Aviation Administration in a news release last week. The grant is part of a larger package of $4 million in FAA grants given to airports in the state.
The money for the Jetport will be spent on new snow removal equipment. The Brunswick Executive Airport, formerly the Brunswick Naval Air Station, received $150,000 to remove obstructions on a runway approach, Pingree said.
