PORTLAND — A sculpture of a porcupine stolen from the Portland International Jetport has been replaced.

City spokeswoman Jessica Grondin announced May 27 that June LaCombe donated of a pair of porcupines sculpted by Wendy Klemperer, to be placed on International Jetport Drive.

“I have donated the porcupine that I own by Wendy Klemperer as a tribute to the original donation by William Hamill. I did not want his gift to so many visitors to be diminished by the theft,” LaCombe said.

Hamill donated 10 Klemperer animal sculptures to the city in 2011. The new porcupine sculpture of a mother and baby has been placed close to the site of the original.
