BRUNSWICK — Police are searching for an Auburn man suspected in a stabbing early Sunday morning.

Police said Jamie Mondragon, 31, of Auburn, fled an apartment at 9 Perryman Drive, where a 25-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed several times while three children were inside the apartment.

The victim’s injuries were considered non-life threatening, and she was reported in stable condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Police said they consider Mondragon to be “armed and dangerous.” He is believed to be driving a dark gray 2001 Lexus ES300 with Maine license plate 6276RP.

Anyone with information regarding Mondragon’s whereabouts was asked to call the Police Department’s lead investigator, Detective William Moir, at 725-6623 extension 167.

According to police logs published by the Lewiston Sun Journal, Mondragon has previously been charged with domestic violence assault and probation hold.
