SOUTH PORTLAND — Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing the Big Apple store at 334 Cottage Road late Monday night.

Sgt. Steve Webster said the suspect entered the store at 10 p.m., threatened the clerk with a handgun, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin, and wearing jeans with holes in them, a black hoodie, ski mask and sunglasses. Webster said a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team assisted in a search, but the trail ended a short distance from the store.
