SOUTH PORTLAND — Police say they have tentatively identified a man who has allegedly been cashing checks stolen in recent burglaries.

Based on tips received from the public, Sgt. Steven Webster said police are looking for 40-year-old Kenneth Jackson, who was described as being 6 feet 4 four inches tall and weighing 190 pounds.

Webster said in a press release that Jackson was last seen in Biddeford on Friday, Oct. 9, and he may be in the company of a woman with blond hair. Police believe Jackson may be driving a green, 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix with the license plate 6755RF.

Police have been looking for a man matching Jackson’s description since last Wednesday, when they released several photos taken from area bank and department store surveillance cameras.

Although there are no active arrest warrants for Jackson, police would like to speak with him about several burglaries in which checks were stolen, Webster said.
