PORTLAND — Maine Drug Enforcement agents and Maine State Police arrested dozens of people who were in the city this weekend for the Phish concert at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Phish, the jam band from Vermont known for its loyal fan following, played Sunday before a sold-out crowd.

Arrested by the MDEA on charges of trafficking in LSD were Raury Duffy, 30, and Ashley Stebbins, 25, both of Connecticut. The two allegedly had 80 doses of acid on them and had agreed to sell some to an undercover agent.

Mark Haskins, 35, of Massachusetts, was arrested on a charge of trafficking after allegedly selling Ecstasy to an undercover agent. Jacob Maier, 33, of New Jersey, was also arrested on charges of trafficking in Ecstasy and was allegedly found with 60 pills.

Two other out-of-state men were charged with trafficking in heroin. Ralph Claudio, 55, of New York City, and Richard Renzo, 42, of Ocala, Fla., allegedly sold heroin to an undercover agent. The MDEA also reported finding Psilocybin mushrooms in Claudio’s pants. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department deputies reportedly found nine bags of heroin on Renzo at the jail. The MDEA said Claudio has 42 aliases in 11 states, and both men have extensive criminal histories.

Shawn Buck, 32, of Portland, was arrested on a charge of furnishing heroin after police say they found a prescription bottle containing the drug on him.

Eric Belfiore, 28, of Philadelphia, was arrested on a charge of trafficking in Ecstasy and possession of LSD after a small clear rock he was carrying tested positive for the hallucinogenic.

State police increased patrols in Portland and on the Maine Turnpike in anticipation of the concert, and reported making a total of 13 arrests and 21 drug-related charges.
