PORTLAND — An unidentified boy arrested on unrelated charges has been identified by police as a participant in a fight that led to two stabbings early Tuesday morning.

Police Lt. James Sweatt said two men who were stabbed were discovered at the intersection of Pine and State streets shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sweatt said the men had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Maine Medical Center.

Police had already responded to a 3:30 a.m. call about a fight at 132 Marginal Way and learned the victims had fled in a vehicle.

Sweatt said the boy was arrested on outstanding warrants for assault, failure to appear in court and a probation violation.

Police asked anyone with information about the fight to call 874-8533. Anonymous tips can be left by clicking “Submit an Anonymous Crime Tip” on portland-police.com, or by texting to 274637 with the keyword “GOTCHA.”
