BRUNSWICK — Phyllis P. West, 97, died Jan. 23 at the Hawthorne House in Freeport.
On June 22, 1912, she was born in Brewer, a daughter of Camillo and Carmille Derenzo Profenno, and attended Portland schools.
She married Geary West in Ayer, Mass., on May 12, 1951.
After working for Independent Lock and Plastamatic Company, she worked in nursing homes for 15 years, retiring in 1977.
In 1978 she and her husband moved to Brunswick, where she was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband Geary, two stepsons, Delano West, and Geary West, Jr., two brothers, Patrick and Rocco Profenno, and her sister, Esther Cunningham.
Surviving are two stepsons, Tyrone West of Westbrook, and Dennis West of Windham; and extended family.
A funeral service will be held in the spring at a date to be determined.
Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
