PORTLAND — Phyllis A. Pelosi, 89, died March 17 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.
Born in Dover-Foxcroft on June 1, 1920, she was a daughter of Robert H. and Mona Gould Jones.
She graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Trull Nursing School in Biddeford and the University of Maine. She was later certified as an occupational health nurse and as a mental health counselor.
For 23 years she worked at Fairchild National Semiconductor until her retirement.
She was a gifted artist and poet and a long-time communicant of St. Pius Church where she sang in the choir.
She was predeceased by her husband, Victor J. Pelosi, Sr., and a son, Brian Pelosi, a sister, Muriel Graham and a brother, Robert Jones, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Victor J. Pelosi, Jr., of Portland; two grandchildren, Jillian Gayle and Michael Brian Pelosi of Portland; a sister, Jacqueline Kimball of Dover-Foxcroft; and a daughter-in-law, Diana Pelosi of Westbroook.
Memorial donations may be made to The Animal Refuge League, P.O. Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098.
Memorial services were held earlier this week.
Arrangements are by Conroy-Tully Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland.
