BOWDOINHAM — Phylis B. Nile, 85, died Oct. 10 at home with her daughter and her six Boston Terriers at her side.
On Sept. 20, 1924, she was born in Bowdoin, the daughter of Frederick and Minnie Douglass and attended local schools.
On June 28, 1941, she married Frank O. Nile.
An excellent homemaker and a wonderful mother, she was also a top breeder of Boston Terriers.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank, two sons, Richard A. Nile and Frank O. Nile Jr., and a sister, Lillian Ellis.
Surviving are her daughter, Pamela S. Babb of Bowdoinham; a brother Frederick B. Douglass of Richmond, and three sisters, Joyce Hamilton, Bessie Boulay and her husband Art, and Hazel Hinckley, all of Bowdoinham; three grandchildren, Ronald Babb of Bowdoinham, Frank S. Nile of Augusta and Brooke N. Babb of Bowdoinham; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date.
