BRUNSWICK — Philip S. Gary, 45, died Oct. 8 unexpectedly at his home.

Gary was born in Lewiston on March 8, 1968, the son of Richard and Helen Gary. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1986. He was known for taking a variety of classes in order to broaden his knowledge and lay the foundation for a career.

He married his best friend, Gail, in April 1999. From the moment they met, both of them knew they were meant to be together.

He lived his life loving and cherishing his family, from his biological children, to his stepchildren, to his foster and adopted children. Family was his life.

Gary most recently worked for Rynel Inc. in Wiscasset.

He continually volunteered his time to Cal Ripken Baseball, BAYFL, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and anyone who needed help.

He enjoyed boating, vacations and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; stepdaughter, Jessica Washburn; stepson, Zachary and wife Holly; sons, Scott Gary, Morgan Gary, Aaron Gary and Doug Gary; daughters, Shiannah Gary and Rebecca Gary; granddaughter Kendra Washburn; brothers, Joe, Bob and Andy; and sister, Lisa. 

A funeral service was held Oct. 11, at Stetson’s Funeral Home, Brunswick, with the Rev. Raymond St. Pierre officiating. Private interment was scheduled to be in Gray Village Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to BAYFL, c/o Mark Waltz (Brunswick Police Department), 85 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
