TOPSHAM — Peter F. Flaig, 90, of River Road, died Feb. 15 in Brunswick, after a period of declining health.

He was born Feb. 13, 1925, the son of Felix and Grace Arno Flaig. He attended Topsham and Brunswick schools.

On Aug. 7, 1948, he married Jeanne Trank. She died on April 5, 2007.

Flaig was employed at Pejepscot Paper Co. for 46 years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed raising cattle on his farm, and showed them for many years at the Topsham Fair, where he was a member of the Fair Association.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Charlie Tarr and Paul Flaig; a sister, Arlene Dickinson; and a daughter-in-law, Sally Flaig.

Flaig is survived by four sons, Donald and wife, Judy, Roger, Daniel and wife, Debbie, and Randall and companion, Richelle Niles, all of Topsham. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Justin, Timothy, Daniel Jr. and Jaime, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held Feb. 20 at Stetson’s Funeral Home, in Brunswick. Burial beside his wife will be in Rogers Cemetery in the spring.

Donations in Flaig’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
