BATH — Peter Anson Buxton, 53, died Jan. 29, at The Hospice House of Auburn, from complications of the stroke he suffered following a heart surgery.

Buxton was born in Augusta, June 7, 1960, the son of Raymond L. Buxton Sr. and Elsie L. Bowler Buxton. He was one of ten children. He attended Edgecomb Eddy School.

Buxton will be remembered for being a big man with a big heart who cherished his dogs, especially Molly, his Boxer who died two days before him. He was always there for his loved ones, whether it was to visit a sick family member, or fix a friend’s car. 

He was predeceased by both his parents, Raymond L. Buxton Sr. and Elsie L. Buxton; sisters, Juanita Weymouth, Donna Willis and Sue Buxton; and many dogs.

He is survived by brothers, Ted Weymouth and wife Pat, of Monmouth, Raymond Buxton Jr. and wife Sandra; sisters, Betty Gould and husband Robert, of Madrid, Rita Buxton and partner Raymond Stuart, of Pittston, Ray Mona Arft and partner David Young, of Poland, Heidi Buxton, of Richmond and Muriel Winchenbach of Bath; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is planned for the spring at Glenside Cemetery on Turkey Lane, Winthrop. Arrangements are under the care of Advantage Funeral Services, 981 Forest Ave., Portland.
