SOUTH PORTLAND — Percy Henry Farr, 93, of South Portland, died Aug. 5 at a Portland nursing home.

Born in Westbrook, July 28, 1918, the son of Percy Freeman Farr and Alice Furlotte Farr, he graduated from Westbrook High School in 1937.

For 37 years he worked for Northern Utilities before spending 20 years working for the City of South Portland as a school bus driver.

He was a member of the South Portland Volunteer Fire Department, Engine and Ladder #3, Pleasantville Hose Company, for 30 years, and was also a member of the Hiram Masonic lodge for over 50 years, Lodge #180, South Portland.

For nearly 60 years he was married to Marion (Pierce). She predeceased him on July 9, 2000.

Percy will be much missed by his family and friends.

He loved spending time with family and friends, watching Red Sox baseball, tending his tomato plants, and discussing politics, especially with his stepson, David. His other enjoyments included dancing and socializing at the Elks Club, and reminiscing about long ago trips down the coast and adventures as a volunteer firefighter.

In addition to his first wife, Marion, he was predeceased by his sisters, Marjorie Emery and husband Philip and Francesta Bertelsen and husband Bruce.

Surviving are his second wife, Carlene (Bragdon) Farr; his daughter Carolyn Cimino and her husband Carmin of Waterford, Conn., and their children, Eric Cimino and his wife Suzanne Rothman of Jackson Heights, N.Y., and Andrea Cimino and her partner, Dr. Michael Greger of Rockville, Md.; two grandchildren, Oliver Rothman Cimino and Anya Rothman Cimino of Jackson Heights, N.Y.; four stepchildren and their families, Mark Bragdon and his wife Donna of Sebago Lake, Libby LeDue of Westbrook, David Bragdon and his wife Terry of Westbrook, and Andrea Beaudoin and her husband Paul of Portland; his sister, Gloria McPhail and her husband Gordon of Oakland; several nieces and nephews, and their families.

A memorial service was held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.
