Transport ‘across the pond’ means cheers for Maine beers
Rising Tide Brewing Company announced that it planned to ship thousands of cases of beer to the United Kingdom last week in collaboration with Beer52, a craft beer subscription service headquartered in Scotland. Beer52 will be featuring all Maine-made craft beers in an upcoming monthly offering to its mail-order customers in the UK. The opportunity to be featured by Beer52 arose from the Maine Brewers’ Guild’s international marketing efforts. In 2017, the Guild converted a refrigerated shipping container into a giant kegerator, dubbed the Maine Brew Box. In partnership with Eimskip, the Maine Beer Box has been shipped to beer festivals in Iceland and England.
Beer drinkers in the UK will get to sample Rising Tide’s Maine Island Trail Ale and Ishmael copper ale. Other Maine breweries featured in the Beer52 offering will include Baxter, Sebago, Foundation, and Geary’s.
