Fluid Imaging Technologies, a laboratory instrumentation manufacturer, opened new corporate headquarters on Enterprise Drive in Scarborough last month. The 17,000-square-foot facility features a state-of-the-art product development research and engineering laboratory and a dedicated sample testing laboratory with all manufacturing, assembly, software development and sales, marketing and customer support under one roof. Kent Peterson, company president and chief executive officer, said providing more than four times more space than the company’s prior headquarters in Yarmouth, the relocation will help speed production, cut lead times and integrate the 16 new staffers who recently filled positions created to meet demand for the company instrumentation products.

Giving Back

In recognition of its 10-year anniversary, local credit card processor PowerPay launched “10 Days of Giving.” During the first 10 days of October, PowerPay employees volunteered time during their workdays, making donations of food and clothing to a variety of local nonprofits. A different activity was scheduled each day. Beneficiaries included Goodwill, the American Red Cross, Portland Public Library, Preble Street, the Good Shepherd Food Bank, Portland Trails and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Portland.

New Hires, Promotions and Appointments

Mary DiMascio has joined the clinical staff of Mid-Coast Senior Health Center as the director of clinical services. She comes with more than 15 years of experience at the senior leadership level within hospital and long-term care facility settings. DiMascio will lead all of the clinical management staff and services provided at the SHC.

Maine State Music Theatre appointed Stephanie Dupal as managing director and Curt Dale Clark as artistic director. Dupal, a Lisbon Falls native, has been serving as the theater general manager for 14 years, after beginning as business manager in 1993. Clark worked eight seasons on the Maine State Music Theatre stage and has a successful administrative background.

Dr. Megan LaPointe has joined Brunswick Eye Care Associates in the Parkview Professional Building. A Maine native, LaPointe received her bachelor’s in biology from Southern Adventist University in Tennessee. Then she attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where she graduated with honors earning her doctorate in optometry.

Civil engineer James Manzer has joined the Scarborough office of global design firm Stantec. For the last 10 years, Manzer has been working on a variety of infrastructure projects across Maine. He received a master’s and degrees in civil engineering and mechanical engineering technology from the University of Maine at Orono.

Kevin Ronan became a licensed real estate agent and will be affiliated with Foundations Real Estate located in Yarmouth. Ronan previously served for 12 years as the president and chief executive officer of Atlantic Home Health Inc., a home health care and behavioral health service provider.

Krystal Kenville has joined Portland Models & Talent LLC, as co-director. Kenville, of Gorham, has more than 10 years of experience in film production, directing, casting and field production. She has worked in film, television, radio and theater both as an actor and behind the scenes. She has led film competitions and festivals throughout Maine and New England.

Recognition

Verrill Dana attorney Karen Frink Wolf has been recognized in Benchmark Litigation’s 2013 edition as one of the “Top 250 Women in Litigation,” an honor bestowed upon only four attorneys in Maine. Wolf’s litigation practice focuses on professional liability, product liability and mass tort defense. She regularly works with physicians, hospitals, health care professionals and pharmaceutical companies. She also maintains a high stakes domestic relations practice, and offers mediation services.

Ellie Baker, Baker Newman Noyes’ managing principal, was honored with the University of New England’s 52nd Annual Deborah Morton Award. This award is given annually to honor the achievements of women in Maine, specifically women who have achieved high distinction in their careers or who have demonstrated exceptional leadership.

Portland-based Perkins Thompson P.A. lawyers Timothy P. Benoit, Fred W. Bopp III, Randy J. Creswell, John A. Hobson, Philip C. Hunt, James N. Katsiaficas, Peggy L. McGehee, Paul D. Pietropaoli, William J. Sheils, Mark P. Snow and John S. Upton have been selected for inclusion in the 2014 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

Nicolette Rollins received a Celebrating Excellence in Caregiving award in the Certified Nurse’s Assistant category from the Maine Health Care Association. She and other award recipients were honored at a MHCA luncheon at the Augusta Civic Center. Rollins’ manager, Heather Raubeson, submitted the nomination citing the tremendous positive impact that Rollins has had on patients, families and staff.

Tom McGintee has joined Norton Insurance Agency as senior insurance marketer. McGintee has more than 12 years of experience in the insurance industry, having most recently served as account executive with United Insurance. McGintee will lead Norton’s property & casualty insurance marketing team for large accounts.
