Giving Back

The Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project has been granted $7,500 from the People of Color Fund of the Maine Community Foundation to support an upgrade to upgrading computer hardware and software at the nonprofit. Earlier this year, individual donors contributed $11,250 to the upgrade campaign at the annual CeleSoirée fundraiser.

A team from Agren Appliance delivered new mattresses at a fundraiser for Tedford Housing’s adult shelter June 9.

Norway Savings Bank donated $3,000 to Oasis Free Clinics to help provide primary care services for low-income and uninsured residents of southern Mid-Coast Maine.

New Hires, Promotions and Appointments

Waynflete School has named Cinda Joyce, Deborah S. Shinn, Tim Soley and Jeffrey Troiano to its board of trustees.

Brian Brodie, Ian Anderson and Joel Tourtelotte have joined the ranks of the Maine Marine Patrol. They were welcomed by Marine Patrol Colonel Joseph Fessenden and Maine Department of Marine Resources Commissioner Patrick Keliher after recent graduation ceremonies at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

The Maine Conservation Corps welcomed Sarah Maloney, of Scarborough, to serve as a field team member and AmeriCorps national service member for a three-month, 450-hour term of national service.

Set in Motion

Mercy Health System of Maine has relocated its Portland Thoracic Surgery practice from Mercy’s State Street location to its new state-of-the-art suite at the medical office building located on the Mercy Fore River Campus. The thoracic surgery team, including leading physician, Dr. Seth Blank together with Joseph Schrader and Scott Edgecomb, moved earlier this spring.
