New Hires, Promotions and Appointments

Atlantic Regional Federal Credit Union, based in Brunswick, has hired Christopher McGorrill as director of marketing. He brings to the position 25 years of experience, most recently as operations manager and marketing director for Saga Communications’ Portland Radio Group.

The MEMIC Group, a provider of workers’ compensation insurance, recently promoted three executives: Matthew Harmon, to senior vice president of claims; Gregory Jamison, to senior vice president of underwriting; and Karl Siegfried, to senior vice president of loss control and safety services. MEMIC has headquarters in Portland and operates seven regional offices along the East Coast.

Portland Ovations has hired Catherine M. Anderson as director of Ovations Offstage, the education and community outreach arm of the 84-year-old performing arts organization. Anderson, a Portland resident, has been a language arts and humanities teacher at the city’s King Middle School for the past 15 years.

Attorney H. Lowell Brown, of Falmouth, has been named associate general counsel and chief compliance officer at Sig Sauer Inc.

Fluid Imaging Technologies, a Scarborough-based manufacturer of laboratory instrumentation, has hired Heather Anne Wright as technical customer support associate. Wright has more than 18 years of experience in oceanographic research, biogeochemistry and educational outreach, and most recently provided technical support at the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, in Boothbay Harbor.

Sharon Brobst, of Portland, recently joined Bath Savings Institution as a mortgage lender at the bank’s South Portland office. She has more than 30 years of lending experience in Maine, and most recently was employed at TD Bank.

Good Shepherd Food Bank has named Michelle Thorpe Hayes, of Scarborough, to its board of directors. Hayes is one of three principals at Smith, Kjedgaard & Hayes, a Scarborough-based human resources firm. Good Shepherd is the largest hunger relief organization in Maine, distributing food through 600 food pantries and other agencies.

TD Bank has promoted Matthew M. Ham to senior vice president and senior change director, based in South Portland. Ham, a Cape Elizabeth resident, has 20 years of management experience, and holds an M.B.A. from Thomas College. He joined TD Bank in 2010.

Morrison Center, a nonprofit agency in Scarborough that provides education and support for children and adults with disabilities, has hired Amy Chute as director of finance. Chute, a certified public accountant, most recently worked as an auditor at a large accounting firm.

Sebago Technics, an engineering consulting firm based in South Portland, has hired two civil engineers, Brandon Blake and Caitlyn Abbott. Blake, of Cape Elizabeth, has more than 10 years of experience, much of it in cell tower design and permitting. Abbott, a Portland resident, has five years of experience, focused on construction inspection and peer-review services for municipalities.

The University of Southern Maine recently appointed Nancy Davis Griffin as vice president for enrollment management. Griffin comes to USM from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she had served as the associate dean for enrollment management and student affairs since 2012. She has more than 30 years of experience in the field, serving at five academic institutions.

GetMaineLobster.com, a Portland-based, online distributor of Maine lobster and seafood, has hired David D’Auteuil as general manager. D’Auteuil has 20 years of experience overseeing sales and customer service operations, and previously had launched his own online seafood company, which merged with GetMaineLobster.com.

Elaine Gammon, of Portland, has joined the law firm of Berman & Simmons as marketing and business development manager. Previously, she served as the marketing manager of Modern Pest services, and worked in marketing communications at IDEXX Laboratories. She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Southern Maine.

New Beginnings

Catherine M. Krouse has opened a primary-care medical practice, Lotus Family Practice, at 66 Leighton Road, Falmouth. Krouse is a board-certified family physician who earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
